Currently we are making plans to put on the 2nd floor on the multipurpose hall we are completing! The multipurpose hall will serve as cafeteria and host other events like parent-teachers conferences , plays, and national entrance exams for students seeking to attend college. This facility will be a focal educational center for an entire geographical area of over 50 villages. 50,000 people.
Currently, we have over 800 students in this one school, Divine Mercy School- K-12 grade. It is located in a very remote area. Our school guarantees the best learning opportunity and environment in the entire local area. We provide hot lunches to students five days a week because we noticed that many of students who walk several miles to get to school arrive with little or nothing in their stomachs.
In terms of impact, our projects provide job opportunities for teachers who come from outside the area. Also, it provides opportunities for menial jobs for men and women to earn some money to help their families!
Plans for the next 5 years:
- Begin a boarding school at one of our schools, St. Joseph School Garam – Some of our students need close mentoring and support due to their family life.
- Begin laying the foundation of a Technical High school to equip students with technical and vocational skills to help them flourish and become independent in a nation of high unemployment- breaking the circle of poverty.
- Establish organic vegetable garden in one of the communities. This will provide year-round vegetables to supplement mostly starchy diet while promoting healthy eating; and helping our students develop their agricultural knowledge.
